The Buckets Difference

The children, our families and our experienced educator teams are so important to us. As a family operated service, we partner with you to build closer,  trusted and lasting bonds that enrich your child’s early years upbringing and guide them in becoming independent and confident learners.

We are a private family owned education provider

As a private operator, we are able to provide a unique and tailored approach to education and care for our community.

As parents ourselves of young children, we look through our parent lens at all times to ensure that all decision making is based only on what we would wish for our own children.

Government Funded Programs

Our Kindergarten programs for 3 and 4 year old children offer an exciting, individualised learning curriculum that build on the children’s wellbeing, social and emotional skills and prepare them for their transition to school. Under the guidance of qualified Early Childhood Teachers, children are supported to connect with others, explore their interests and participate in various learning projects.

Nutrition

Our chefs produce seasonal menus designed to introduce and celebrate tastes, flavours and cultures to children at each meal experience. Each menu reflects the voices and ideas of our community while always achieving the standards set by Nutrition Australia.

Our Curriculum

Through a multitude of learning platforms, experiences and opportunities, wee implement and support an engaging and dynamic educational environment that promotes the holistic and authentic learning journey of every child.

Health and Wellbeing

At Buckets Early Learning we are proud to have successfully completed the Achievement Program – a six part framework designed to bring together and enhance current initiatives to support a whole-of-service approach to health and wellbeing.

The Achievement Program is supported by the Victorian Government and aligns to key policies and guidelines including the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, the National Quality Standard and Quality Improvement Plans.

Growing Mentally Healthy Communities

As participants in the Be You program and professional frameworks, we understand the concepts of mental health and wellbeing in children. Building a mentally healthy community is key to enabling children to achieve their best possible mental health. Though every day interactions we, at Buckets Early Learning, encourage strong supportive relationships in an inclusive environment, to build and promote mental health, wellbeing and resilience in our children

Mindfulness

Including mindfulness programs through play based experiences such as guided stories, yoga programs and intentional art experiences.

We are local and we support local

We focus on, and maintain, a strong connection to our communities, sourcing local produce for our kitchens, engaging in extensive excursion programs across all age groups and building relationships with community groups and local schools.

Enrichment Programs

We want our children to feel a part of the wider community and develop a deep understanding of the world around them. We are joined by weekly classes across our services that focus on music, physical movement and yoga. Our Kindergarten groups engage in weekly Bush Kinder sessions and all age groups have access to our Out and About excursion program. Our Educators enrich our educational program with a regular focus on creative arts, gardening, sustainability and healthy cooking experiences.

Experienced Educators

We are incredibly proud of our dedicated and committed Educator team. Many of our educators have been with us for several years and we continue to invest in our teams professional development and growth which in turn flows back to benefit our children and families.

Outdoor Learning Environments

We do not distinguish between the indoor and outdoor environments. At Buckets Early Learning all spaces provide significant educational opportunities. Our custom design offers extensive undercroft areas permitting activities to be available in all spaces at all times. Our curated outdoor environments mirror the indoors with areas to connect with nature, explore our senses, engage in creative experiences and test ourselves physically. We encourage children led direction on where and how they wish to engage during each day.

Each children’s room extends to the outdoors through large double door openings providing ultimate flexibility. These doors remain open at all times enabling a constant flow for programs across the indoors and outdoors. Just as the indoor rooms are based on a child’s growth and development, our outdoor environments are also uniquely separate allowing for a true continuation of the educational program catered to each group individually across the whole environment.

As a Sun Smart Centre, there is both natural building form and purpose built shade throughout the environment to ensure we are protected from the sun as recommended by UV ratings.

Family Values

We believe in a combined approach between families and our educators. We recognise your family as your child’s primary educator and we ensure your participation and communication assists to create a positive link between your child’s home and our educational environment.

We work collaboratively with families in advancing children’s growth and development by:

  • building partnerships with families founded on mutual respect, trust, communication and consultation
  • incorporating the beliefs, skills, interests and values of families into our environment
  • creating a welcoming and culturally inclusive environment
  • encouraging families to participate in, and contribute to, their children’s learning and development.

We give back

It is our philosophy that all children should be afforded an opportunity to grow, learn and cultivate positive life experiences and so we support a number of charitable organisations aimed at helping improve outcomes for children. These include The Royal Children’s Hospital, The Smith Family, SIDS Australia and the Nappy Collective.
